| Lot description: ABBASID: al-Muqtadir, 908-932, AR dirham (2.29g), A-246.2-var, contemporary imitation, with the name al-muqtadir and the rest of the legends on both sides retrograde, with the marginal legends utterly meaningless, probably struck at some time circa 930-960; pierced twice and slightly uneven surfaces, VF, RR NOTE: In the printed auction catalog we referenced this as a likely Georgian issue. The association with Georgia is very uncertain and should at best be ignored. Estimate: 150-200 USD |  |
