According to the Dictionary of the nobility of François-Alexandre Aubert de la Chesnaye des Bois, Badier, our character is Philippe-Emmanuel De Crussol, born on April 30, 1686. First Knight of Malta, then Marquis of Saint-Sulpice, after the death of his elder brother, whose Regiment he obtained in June 1701, having entered the Musketeers a few days earlier, he left the service and resigned from his Regiment in March 1708. He died in Paris on August 12, 1761, and had married on May 5, 1715, Marie-Antoinette d'Estaing, who died in Paris on April 3, 1771.
