FRANCE. Constitution. Convent of the Barnabites Bronze Badge, 1791. EXTREMELY FINE.
Diameter: 37mm; Weight: 19.57 gms. Edge: Plain, with loop attached at top. Obverse: Bell; Reverse: Cracked bell lying in the foreground; behind, facade of church with rooster upon its spire and clouds in the sky. The border of each side is in the form of a wreath-like ouroboros. The fields of each side chased during manufacture. Deep brown in hue, Margolis notes that this is quite likely a later casting.
