ITALY, Firenze. Giuliano de' Medici. Duca di Nemours, 1479-1516. Æ Medal (34mm, 21.18 g, 7h). Adoption as Citizen and Baron of Rome. By an uncertain medallist (in Rome?). Later cast of a circa 1513 original. MAG IVLIANVS MEDICES, bare head left / Roma seated left on shields, holding Victory in right hand; C(onsenso) P(ublico) flanking; ROMA in exergue. Hill 887. Brown surfaces, lightly chased, a few scratches, some porosity. VF.

Though seemingly not engraved by Cavino, the fine classical style exhibited on this piece would be welcome in a collection of Renaissance 'sestertii.'
