| Lot description: Canada Newfoundland. Victoria Cent 1888 MS64 Red and Brown PCGS, London mint, KM1. An exceedingly rare date in any condition approaching Mint State, let alone in this lofty near-Gem state of preservation. From a low mintage of only 50,000 pieces, this astonishing survivor is better than the Belzberg example we sold in 2017, and matched only by the equally graded piece we handled in 2005 realizing $4,370 all in. A pretty and harmonious selection, currently tied for the highest certified at PCGS with only two others, and one that will undoubtedly be highly contested at the auction block.
