| Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. George III. 1760-1820. AR Dollar. Struck 1804. Octagonal countermark on a U.S. bust Dollar dated 1799. Bull 1874; ESC 143; SCBC 3766B (this coin illustrated). The 'queen' of the British countermarked series. Richly toned. A very bold countermark on a Dollar with only minimal evidence of circulation. Of great rarity. In NGC encapsulation 2153882-006, graded XF 45. Ex M.
