Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Charles I. 1625-1649. AV Unite (33.5mm, 9.05 g, 9h). Group B. London mint; im: heart. Struck 1629-1630. Crowned second bust left, wearing ruff; XX (mark of value) to right / Crowned coat-of-arms. Schneider, Tower Group B, Class Ia/Ib, 3; Brooker 58-9 var. (legend stops); Schneider 127-8 var. (same); North 2149; SCBC 2688 (this coin illustrated). Faint hairline in obverse field. Nevertheless a most handsome coin. Toned with traces of underlying lustre. Near EF.
