The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Henry VII. 1485-1509.
AR Groat (25mm, 3.20 g, 4h). Facing bust issue, group IIIb. London mint; im: escallop. Struck 1493-1495. Crowned facing bust within tressure of arches, two jewelled arches in crown; fleurs on cusps / Long cross pattée; triple pellets in quarters. P&W type IIIB, 10; SCBI 23 (Ashmolean), 264-5; North 1705; SCBC 2198A.
Expressive portrait. Toned with flashes of blue iridescence. Near EF.
