Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Edward III. 1327-1377. AR Groat (26mm, 4.60 g, 8h). Fourth coinage, Treaty period. London mint. Struck 1361-1369. Crowned facing bust within tressure of arches; lis at cusps / Long cross pattée; triple pellets in quarters. Lawrence 1-3/4 (for obv./rev.); North 1247; SCBC 1616. A handsome example from very early in the Treaty issue. Toned. Near EF. Ex F. Brady (Spink 209, 6 October 2011), lot 33, 'a superb example with a most pleasing portrait'; P.
