George III (1760-1820), Emergency Issues (2 January 1804), Octagonal-Countermark Dollar (8-Reales), 1795-FM, Mexico City, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Charles IV right, octagon countermark of George III in centre, rev. crowned square-topped shield dividing pillars, security edge, 26.65g, 12h (ESC 138; Bull 1868; Spink 3766), the hoist coin lightly contact marked, with darkened peripheries, very fine, the countermark with a die flaw across the forehead, otherwise very fine; and Countermark, Oval-Countermark Dollar (8-Reales) of Carlos IV, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, oval countermark of George III in centre, rev. crowned square-topped shield dividing pillars, security edge, 23.59g, 12h (cf. ESC 129-131; cf. Bull 1852-1855; Spink 3765A), heavily corroded, fair (2).
