| Lot description: MEXICO. Visit of Charles de Gaulle Gold Medal, 1964. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-65. Grove-872. Diameter: 40mm. Weight: 40.74 gms. Struck to commemorate the visit of French President Charles de Gaulle to Mexico. Obverse: Facing heads of Charles de Gaulle and Mexican President Adolfo Lopez Mateos; Reverse: 10-line inscription indicating the visit and its date. Deeply mirrored surfaces with frosty busts in high relief. There is slight streaking to the bottom of de Gaulle, though it does not affect the portrait.
