MEXICO. Recovery of Chamizal Gold Medal, 1963. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-63.
Grove-824. Diameter: 42mm; Weight: 42.28 gms. Obverse: Portraits of Kennedy, Juarez and Lopez Mateos above clasped hands; Reverse: Crossed Mexican and United States flags. Struck to commemorate the previously negotiated 1911 resolution into a treaty which granted Mexico a total of 437 acres of disputed territory, this medal offers an appealing history and much charm. Fully reflective surfaces with minimal discernible marks.
