MEXICO. San Luis Potosi. Ferdinand VII Gilt Bronze Proclamation Medal, 1808. PCGS AU-50.
Grove-F-158 var. (Gilt Bronze); Fonrobert-6981. Obverse: Laureate bust of Ferdinand VII right; Reverse: Coat of arms of San Luis Potosi. SCARCE in any composition, this issue is unlisted in gilt bronze. The obverse features a high-relief portrait of the new monarch with an almost sculptural appearance, and both sides retain nearly intact golden surfaces with hints of the bronze core peeking only from the high points.
