| Lot description: ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. temp. 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, AH 65-86 / AD 685-705. Pashiz (Bronze, 20 mm, 0.45 g, 4 h), Ardashir Khurra. Draped and crowned Sasanian-style bust to right; behind head, 'GDE [ʾp̄zwt]' ('[may his] glory increase' in Pahlavi); before head, '[drwystyh]' ('righteousness' in Pahlavi). Rev. Facing winged nimbate angel; to left and right, 'ʾp̄ʾt ˗ ʾrthštr[GDE]' ('Prosperous Ardashir Khurra' in Pahlavi). Album A45. Gyselen 103. Very rare.
