S-5460; Fr-46; KM-20; Burns-1 (fig. 956). Eighth coinage. Weight: 4.97 gms. Obverse: Crowned coat-of-arms; Reverse: Sword and scepter crossed in saltire; thistle to left and right; crown above. Emanating from the waning years of James's reign over both Scotland and England, this wholesome hammered issue presents a pleasing strike with clear devices and a golden-yellow flair.
