Richard III (1483-1485), Groat, Type 2b, London, crowned bust facing, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, 3.08g, 2h, m.m. BH1/BH2 (Winstanley 9; Stewartby p. 434, IIb; North 1679; Spink 2156), small flan split at 8 o;clock, with traces of die clashing through portrait, clipped and with partial striking softness to reverse, otherwise lightly toned, fine / nearing very fine, the Boar's head pyx mark intensely desirable.
