Richard III (1483-1485), Groat, Type 2b, London, crowned bust facing, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, 2.604g, 9h, m.m. BH2 [both sides] (Winstanley 9; Stewartby p. 434, IIb; North 1679; Spink 2156), superficial marks, clipped and with a tiny flan split at 3 o'clock, subtly crimped and darkly toned, otherwise very fine, the fabled personal pyx mark distinct, rare thus.
