In a central circle, 'al-wāthiq / Dhu'l-Qarnayn ibn / ʿAyn al-Dawla' ('Confident [in God], Dhu'l-Qarnayn son of ʿAyn al-Dawla' in Arabic); in the margin, '[O] MEΓAC ΔOΛ[XAΡNAΙΝ]' ('Dhu'l-Qarnayn the Great' in Greek); illegible countermark to the left.
