| Lot description: China Kansu. Republic Fantasy Dollar Year 17 (1928)-Dated MS61 NGC, cf. KM-Y410 (for prototype), cf. L&M-618 (same), cf. Kann-760 (same), cf. WS-0720 (same). A highly respectable representation of a very scarce type, interestingly even rarer in its current format, with only a single other fantasy example coming to market in the last decade. Struck to imitate one of only two collectible Dollars of Kansu origin, the piece at hand showcases a slightly crude depiction of Sun Yat-sen and the symbol of the Kuomintang to the reverse.
