| Lot description: BURMA: TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th/18th century, cast large tin coin (77.50g), Robinson-24 (Plate 9.4, same molds), 66mm; knotted dragon left with long protruding pointed tongue, no dots below the dragon // jumble of meaningless symbols, probably an emergency issue from the Perak region, nearly EF, RRR. Coins of this type, where the dragon rather resembles a snake, typically weigh in the 55g-75g range, and were found in the Perak hoard, noted by Robinson, pp. 56-58. Estimate: 180-220 USD |  |
