Lot description: Mexico Philip V gold Cob 8 Escudos ND (1702-1710)-Mo MS62 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM57.1, Cal-Type 292. "Box end Cross" variety. 26.84gm. An ever popular "doubloon", presenting the usual crude strike with peripheral flatness but crisp motifs with lustrous crevices. Likely salvaged from the 1715 Fleet, though we have no documentation to support this.
