Lot description: BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1701-P. Potosi Mint; Assayer Diego de Ybarbouru (Y). Philip V. PCGS VF-30. KM-25; Cal-1153. Weight: 12.61 gms. Posthumous issue in the name of Charles II. A striking 4 Reales piece with ample detail. Despite some die rotation and flatness, the obverse displays a clear mintmark, assayer's initial, and date. The reverse is more impressive thanks to a well-centered strike. It shows a denomination, partial mintmark, and a bold assayer's initial. The coin's well-struck details are enhanced by the lovely cabinet toning on the surfaces. A wholesome and satisfying piece. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click here.
