ISLAMIC, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Artuqids (Mardin). Qutb al-Din Il-Ghazi II, AH 572-580 / AD 1176-1184. Dirham (Bronze, 31 mm, 11.92 g, 11 h), without mint and date. Diademed Roman style head to right within beaded square, his eyes raised to heaven; around beaded square; 'ibn Alpi ibn Tirmurtash ibn il-Ghazi ibn Artuq' (in Kufic). Rev. 'il-Ghazi / li-Mawlana al-Malik al'Alim / al-adil Qutb al-Din / Malik al-Umara Shah / Diyarbakr' in five lines (in Kufic). Spengler & Sayles 31.1. Attractive earthen highlights. Light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
