| Lot description: PALESTINE. Cafe Werner Brass Token Set (6 Pieces), ND (1935-49). EXTREMELY FINE. This group of tokens originates from Cafe Werner on Herzl Street in Haifa which operated between 1935-1949. The proprietor was a Jewish refugee from Vienna who had these struck there prior to moving to Palestine. The tokens were only used between staff and were not used as a payment substitute. Included are the denominations 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, and 5. Most are in attractive and gently handled condition. Estimate: $200 - $400 |  |
