MYSIA, Pergamum. Commodus. AD 177-192. Æ Medallion (41mm, 37.37 g, 6h). Homonoia with Ephesus. P. Ael. Pius, strategos. [AY K]AI M AV-PH KOMOΔOC, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / ΕΠI CT[P]-A ΠIOV [KOI]NΩ[N]/ ΠΕPΓAMHNΩ/N EΦECΙΩN, Asclepius, holding cult idol of Artemis Ephesia and serpent-entwined staff, seated in biga drawn by two centaurs. Cf. F&N 1563-5 (with younger bust seen from front); cf. SNG France 2188 (for obv. die, different alliance type). Fine, earthen black patina, some smoothing. Extremely rare and possibly unrecorded with this later bust type.
