MOESIA INFERIOR, Marcianopolis. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Pentassarion (27mm, 9.57 g, 6h). Tullius Menophilus, legatus consularis. Confronted busts of Gordian III right, laureate, draped, and cuirassed, and Serapis left, draped and wearing calathus / Serapis standing facing, head left, raising right hand and holding drapery in left; long scepter leaning against him, E (mark of value) in left field. H&J 6.37.6.1 (R5, same dies as illustration). VF, green patina, roughness and cleaning scratches.
