MOESIA INFERIOR, Marcianopolis. Philip I, with Otacilia Severa. AD 244-249. Æ Pentassarion (29mm, 14.08 g, 12h). Prastina Messallinus, legatus consularis. Struck AD 244-247. Confronted busts of Philip right, laureate, draped, and cuirassed, and Otacilia left, draped and wearing stephane / Apollo standing facing, with right arm raised above head, left hand holding bow set on tree stump with serpent coiled around it; E (mark of value) and quiver to left. H&J, Markianopolis 6.41.7.1 (same dies as illustration); Pfeiffer 734 var. (arrangement of rev. legend; same obv. die); Varbanov 2067 var. (obv. legend). Good VF, green patina.
