Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Men standing left in distyle temple; lion at feet. Von Aulock, Pisidiens, 1829 (Philip II; same dies); SNG France -; BMC Lycia -; SNG Copenhagen -. Near VF, black and brown patina, some roughness. Very rare, only one cited by von Aulock. ($300) The specimen cited by von Aulock is barely fine and as such is called Philip II because of the smooth face. This specimen from the same dies, however, clearly shows an older, bearded portrait and is thus correctly identified as Philip I. |  |
