Gordian III. 238-244 AD. Tetradrachm, 12.43g. (12h). Antiochia ad Orontem, 241-4 AD. Obv: AYTOK K M ANT ΓOPΔI[ANOC C]EB Bust radiate, cuirassed left, seen from front, holding spear over right shoulder and shield decorated with winged Medusa head by left shoulder, strap over right shoulder and across chest. Rx: ΔHM[APX] E - Ξ VΠATO B Eagle with spread wings standing right, head left, wreath in beak; between legs ram, head turned back, running left under crescent. Prieur 299 (11 specimens). McAlee 884 (Rare; his specimen from same dies as ours). EF.
