SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. Æ 8 Assaria (32mm, 14.00 g, 7h). Struck circa AD 222-235. Laureate head right / Tyche seated left on rocks; to left, a second Tyches standing facing, head right, holding rudder and cornucopia; to right, emperor(?) in military dress, resting hand on parazonium, crowning seated Tyche with wreath; below, river god Orontes swimming left; Δ-Є across field, S C in exergue. McAlee 832/1 (this coin illustrated). VF, light green patina, adjustment marks. Rare.
