MOESIA INFERIOR, Marcianopolis. Gordian III. 238-244 AD. Æ 35mm Medallion (28.48 gm). Tertullianus, magistrate. Radiate, draped and cuirassed half-length bust left; right hand raised, left hand holding globe / Gordian standing facing, holding reverse spear and parazonium, on the right stand Nike placing a wreath on Gordian's head. AMNG I 1099; Varbanov 1520. Fine, black patina with some smoothing, rough with some breaks in the patina around the edge. Rare.
