| Lot description: ROMAN COINS MÜNZEN DER RÖMISCHEN KAISERZEIT Antoninus III. Caracalla, 198-217. AR-Tetradrachme, 213/217, Tyros (Phoenicia); 12,85 g. Kopf r. mit Lorbeerkranz über Adler, dahinter Keule//Melqartkopf r. mit Lorbeerkranz. Prieur 1542. R Fast sehr schön Erworben im März 2020 bei der Firma Dionysos Numismatik, Hamburg. Tyros war das Zentrum der Purpurgewinnung. Man benötigte etwa 8.000 Pupurschnecken (Murex trunculus), um ein Gramm des extrem teuren Farbstoffes herzustellen.
