PHOENICIA, Tyre. Caracalla. AD 198-217. BI Tetradrachm (26mm, 12.15 g, 12h). Struck AD 213-217. Laureate head of Caracalla right set on eagle standing right, wings gathered; to right, club / ΔHMAPX ЄΞ YΠAT Δ (date), laureate bust of Melqart right (with features of Caracalla), lion's skin tied around neck. Prieur 1543. Toned, porosity, traces of find patina, struck on a slightly compact flan. Near VF.
