EGYPT, Alexandria. Domitian. AD 81-96. Æ Dichalkon (16mm, 2.32 g, 12h). Dated RY 7 (AD 87/8). Laureate head right / Crocodile right; L Z (date) above. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) –; K&G –; RPC II –; Emmett 333.7 (unrecorded year). Earthen black and red patina. Fine. Very rare, seemingly unpublished.

The anepigraphic dichalkoi were struck by Vespasian, Domitian, Trajan, and Hadrian; the portait on this coin favors Domitian. The year seven crocodile isn't recorded in the primary references for any of them.
