Agrippina Senior, died 33. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 35 mm, 30.00 g, 6 h), Rome, struck under Claudius, 50-54. AGRIPPINA M F GERMANICI CAESARIS Draped bust of Agrippina Senior to right. Rev. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR•AVG GERM•P•M TR•P•IMP•P•P• around large S C; in upper field, countermark: NCAPR (Nummus Caesare Augusto PRobatus?) within rectangular incuse. BMC 219. Cohen 3. RIC 102. For countermark, Pangerl 60. A beautiful coin with a lovely portrait and an outstanding pedigree. About extremely fine.
