PHOENICIA, Tyre. Diadumenian. As Caesar, AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (23mm, 12.61 g, 12h). Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust right / ΔHMAPX ЄΞ YΠATOC TO Δ, eagle standing facing on club right, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; murex shell between legs. Prieur 1559 var. (pellets flanking Δ in rev. legend). Toned, some surface roughness. Near VF. Possibly unique variety, two with pellets known to Prieur, none on CoinArchives.
