| Lot description: PHOENICIA, Tyre. Diadumenian. As Caesar, AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (25.5mm, 12.45 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing on club right, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; murex shell between legs. Prieur 1560. VF, lightly toned with underlying luster, a touch of porosity. Extremely rare, five known to Prieur, and none in CoinArchives. From the Michel Prieur Collection. Ex Numismatica Ars Classica 46 (2 April 2008), lot 1129 (hammer 1100 CHF). When this coin was sold by NAC in 2008, they catalogued it as Prieur 1558, but Prieur reattributed it to his no. 1560.
