| Lot description: PHOENICIA, Byblus. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 12.20 g, 7h). Struck AD 215-217. Laureate and cuirassed bust right, with gorgoneion on breastplate / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; altar between legs. Prieur 1312 (this coin). Good VF, toned, some light porosity, minor deposits. Extremely rare, only two known to Prieur, and none in CoinArchives. From the Michel Prieur Collection. Ex G. Hirsch 131 (14 April 1982), lot 3333.
