Lot description: CILICIA. Ninica-Claudiopolis. Maximinus I Thrax, 235-238. Diassarion (Bronze, 25.5 mm, 10.13 g, 7 h). I-MP MAXIMINVS P I Laureate head of Maximinus to right. Rev. C-OL / CL-UΔ NINI-C Bearded male figure, probably Marsyas, nude and wearing a taenia and boots, standing to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding, with his left, a wineskin over his left shoulder. BMC 7 var. SNG Levante Suppl. 169 (this coin). SNG Paris 794 var. SNG von Aulock 5778 (same dies). A remarkably fine and clear example, with a lovely olive green patina. About extremely fine.
