| Lot description: Ancients Sabina (AD 128-136/7). AE sestertius (31mm, 21.23 gm, 5h). NGC Fine 5/5 - 2/5. Rome. SABINA AVGVSTA-HADRIANI AVG, draped bust of Sabina right, seen from front, hair plaited and coiled atop head in elaborate coiffure / Vesta seated left, palladium in outstretched right hand, scepter cradled in left arm; S C in exergue. RIC II (Hadrian) 1034. From the Eyeappealing Collection. Ex Heritage Auctions, Auction 231452 (24 December 2014), lot 64051. Vibia Sabina, born AD 83, was the long-suffering wife of Hadrian. At one point, Hadrian felt that Suetonius, his secretary and the biographer of The Twelve Caesars, was acting in an informal manner towards her, so Hadrian dismissed him from his position.
