| Lot description: BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Demetrios I, circa 200-185 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 35 mm, 16.84 g, 12 h). Diademed and draped bust of Demetrios I to right, wearing elephant's skin headdress; border of dots. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ Herakles standing facing, crowning himself with a wreath held in his right hand, holding his club in his left and with a lion's skin draped over his left arm; in the inner left field, monogram of PK. Bopearachchi 1c. HGC 12, 63. SNG ANS 187. With a noble portrait, lightly toned and struck on a broad flan. Minor marks and porosity, otherwise, very fine. Estimate: 1500 CHF |  |
