Rev: ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ, eagle standing to left on thunderbolt, palm frond over shoulder; L IΔ (date) over headdress of Isis to left, ΠΑ to right. Very Fine. The regent is the famed Cleopatra VII, the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. A highly educated and politically astute monarch, she secured her throne amid dynastic by aligning herself first with Julius Caesar - with whom she had a son, Caesarion - and later with Mark Antony, forming both a political and romantic alliance that reshaped the eastern Mediterranean.
