Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, ALEXANDROU to right, no control marks, (cf.S.6730, Price -, ADM I Series X, 78a var (monogram below throne, same obv. die), CNG E-422, lot 84 [same dies]). Toned, extremely fine and extremely rare, apparently the second or third known of this issue.
Ex Anthony (Tony) Taylor Collection.
CNG Auction 429, lot 50.
It is possible that ADM I Series X, 78b is of this unmarked issue; the reverse controls on that coin are listed as "obscure", which may indicate that control marks were expected, but cannot be seen-possibly because none are present on that coin. Unfortunately, the piece is not illustrated in ADM, nor can it be found in Pella. (per CNG)
