Julius Caesar, 49-44 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.98 g, 10 h), military mint (Utica?), 46. DICT•ITER - COS•TERT Head of Ceres to right, wearing wreath of grain ears. Rev. AVGVR - PONT•MAX Culullus, aspergillum, jug and lituus; to right, M (munus). Babelon (Julia) 16. Crawford 467/1b. RBW 1638. Sydenham 102. A lovely example, well centered and of attractive style. Small banker's mark on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
