This popular type is a direct reference to the mint in Rome, which was located near the temple of Juno Moneta on the Capitoline Hill, and the mint workers, whose tools are depicted on the reverse. It is one of many types Carisius issued to pay Caesar's veterans during the dictator's quadruple triumph in 46 BC.
