Mark Antony and Octavia, 40-35 BC. 'As' (Bronze, 22 mm, 8.60 g, 6 h), 'Fleet coinage', heavy series. M. Oppius Capito, propraetor and praefectus classis. Uncertain mint in Achaea (?), summer 38. [M•ANT•IMP•TERT]•COS•DESIG•ITER•ET•T[ER•IIIVIR•R•P•C] Conjoined bare head of Mark Antony and draped bust of Octavia to right. Rev. [M•OPPIVS•CAPI]TO•PRO•PR•PRAEF•[CLASS•F•C] Galley sailing right; below, A and head of Medusa (?). Amandry, Bronze II, Series III 1D. CRI 288. RPC I 1465.3 (this coin). Sydenham 1268. Rare. Slightly smoothed and with minor roughness and some areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
