Lucilla. Augusta, AD 164-182. AR Denarius (16mm, 3.27 g, 6h). Contemporary imitation. Imitating Rome mint. LVCILLAE AVG ANTONINI [AVG F], draped bust right / PROV DEOR TR P XVI COS III, Providentia standing facing, head left, holding globe and cornucopia. RIC III –; MIR 18, –; RSC –. Lightly toned, deposits, struck on a small flan. Near VF. Extremely rare imitation.

This reverse type was not struck for Lucilla. This reverse is dated TR P XVI, AD 161-162, of Marcus Aurelius (cf. RIC III 48-52). Coins of this same year, struck by Verus, have the date written as TR P COS II (the second year as joint emperors).
