PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy II Philadelphos, 285-246 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 13.33 g, 12 h), Tyre, RY 30 = 256/5. Diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, wearing aegis around neck. Rev. ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ Eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt; to left, monogram of TYP above club; to right, Λ above monogram of A and B; between eagle's legs, monogram of O and N. CPE 583. SNG Copenhagen 489. Svoronos 661. Harshly cleand and the obverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.
