Sextus Pomponius Fostlus (ca. 137 BC). AR denarius (20mm, 3.99 gm, 10h). NGC MS 4/5 - 4/5, flan flaw. Rome. Head of Roma right, wearing winged helmet decorated with griffin crest; X (mark of value) under chin, aryballos right behind, dotted border / SEX•PMO-F-OSTLVS, She-wolf standing right, looking back at suckling twins, Romulus and Remus; shepherd Faustulus standing right on left, ficus Ruminalis beyond, one bird perching on trunk and two more birds perching on upper branches, ROMA in exergue.
