GALATIA, Koinon of Galatia. Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ (32mm, 23.22 g, 6h). Titus Pomponius Bassus, presbeutes. Laureate head right / Statue of Mên standing left, within distyle temple, seen in perspective; she-wolf suckling the twins Romulus and Remus in pediment, acroteria on cornices and apex. Arslan, Coins 64 & M12 var. (legends, clipeus in pediment); RPC III 2890 var. (clipeus in pediment); SNG BN –. Dark green surfaces, deposits, corrosion, smoothing. Near VF. Rare and unpublished variety with the wolf in the pediment.
